Sam has been teaching art for 15 years now; in various settings from
private tutoring, leading community arts groups for adults, running
day workshops and leading teaching (alongside storytelling) across all
Primary (Junior and Infant) age children.

Graduating as a mature student in 2013 from Nottingham Trent
University with a BA in Decorative Arts, Sam has also recently
completed her training from Trinity College, London and is now
accredited to teach Arts Award across Discover, Explore, Bronze and
Silver levels for young people aged 4-25 years. Bronze is suitable for
approximately 10 year olds upwards (depending upon previous
experience) and is an equivalent learning level to a GCSE.

Sam also has qualifications in dressmaking and since 2013 has worked
as a Wardrobe Assistant for Disney on Ice touring shows across the UK
and Europe.

Whilst Sam’s teaching skills are based around textiles and mixed
media, with strong leanings towards the use of recycled materials;
photography, the written word and performance art play an important
role in her own art work.

A variety of Sam’s own creative work has been shown in exhibitions in
Nottingham, London and Wales.

Sam has a 9 year old son and 7 year old twin girls, a current clear
DBS (previously known as CRB) check, and a responsible, friendly, calm
but enthusiastic manner of teaching.
